Unblock streaming sites with this VPN

BlufVPN is a VPN service based in Estonia. This security platform provides users with over 500 server locations from 60 countries that they can connect to in order to hide their identity online. The app is easy to download and install and allows users to connect to a server with a single click.

Compared to other VPN services, such as NordVPN and CyberGhost, the servers offered by BlufVPN are relatively low. However, these locations are optimized for file sharing, making them ideal for torrenting. Moreover, it can unblock geo-restrictions for streaming sites, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+

What does the app offer?

With BlufVPN, you have a workable VPN. The app is easy to use, allowing you to connect to a server location with a simple tap. Moreover, by default, it connects you to the nearest, best-performing server. Additionally, it lets you create a list of your favorite locations, allowing you to connect to them with ease. However, there are only 500 locations. In terms of industry standards, this is pretty low.

Unlike other small VPNs, this app comes with a kill switch, ensuring that your connection is still protected during VPN service disruption. However, note that this is disabled by default. Users need to activate the feature upon launching the app. For more convenience, BlufVPN can be set to autorun, which launches the app whenever you turn on your PC. With this, you can protect your traffic all the time.

BlufVPN uses 256-bit AES encryption and offers DNS leakage protection. Moreover, it comes with three tunneling protocols—OpenVPN, IKEv2, and Wise in TCP modes—to move your traffic data safely. It also comes with a no-logging policy. Although, it processes some personal data for monitoring purposes. However, note that it can only support up to five devices per subscription. Additionally, it has poor customer service, so getting help can be an issue.

Is it worth using?

All in all, BlufVPN is an app worth checking if you are looking for a VPN alternative. The app is easy to use, fast, secure and provides a good internet connection. Even better, it can unblock geo-restrictions and is good for torrenting. However, it lacks some advanced features that other big VPNs have. It also has limited server locations. Moreover, it only allows five devices per account.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
